This is a Vanilla Porter that uses real vanilla beans after fermentation. I had it the first time served on nitro so if you can it is great but it is still a phenomonal beer carbed with co2 in a keg or corn sugar in a bottle. With Maris Otter, pale malt, special b, crystal, chocolate, aromatic and flaked barley you can see that it has a very intense, layered flavor. Then for 5-7 days we add real vanilla beans, which are included, to it to give it that heavenly vanilla taste that is more than subtle, but not anywhere close to overpowering. Serve this half and half in a pint glass with the Malted Milk Stout and you just cant get much better!
Both recipes use either Safeale 05 or Wyeast 1056 American Ale. Best fermented for 3-5 weeks.
Available in an all grain or extract version, both come in right around 6.25% ABV.
Extract version is made with DME and steeping grains. Steeping grains are packed in a muslin grain bag perfect for steeping. 5.5 gallon recipe.
All grain recipe is based on a 5.5 gallon recipe at 70% efficiency.
