Being in Kansas City, we are always asked about making Boulevard Brewing Co's beers. I started trying to clone Boulevard Unfiltered wheat several years ago and it has always been my white whale per se, as that is a very hard beer to clone. This is my take on a Kansas City Classic. While it is not a 100% clone, it comes in very close and some even claim to like it better. As always, this is one that I have brewed many times and I am thrilled to be offering it as a kit!
Both recipes use either Safale 05 or Wyeast 1056 American Ale. Best fermented for 2-4 weeks.
Available in an all grain or extract version, both come in right around 4.7% ABV.
Extract version is a 5.5 gallon recipe and is made with DME.
All grain recipe is based on a 5.5 gallon recipe at 70% efficiency.
Both recipes come with detailed instructions which may or may not need adjusting to you own brewing style. Try this and I think you will love it!
