Alaskan Amber Ale Clone
Alaskan Amber Ale clone. Richly malty and long on the palate, with just enough hop backing to make this beautiful amber colored beer notably well balanced.
This is one of my all time favorite beers. I cannot even get it in Missouri so I make it myself. Based on a recipe I have used for years, choose all grain or extract.
Extract version is made with DME and steeping grains. Steeping grains are packed in a muslin grain bag perfect for steeping. 5.25 gallon recipe.
All grain recipe is based on a 5.5 gallon recipe at 70% efficiency.
Both recipes come with detailed instructions which may or may not need adjusting to you own brewing style. Both recipes come with Danstar Windsor yeast and can also be substituted to use Wyeast Kolsch yeast as long as it is available. Both recipes end up right at 5.4 ABV.
