Nut Brown Ale
"Nut" in the name implies a dry nut-like taste that makes it distinct from some of the sweeter brown ales. A medium bodied, brown ale with a complex chocolatey, toasted malt taste. This nut brown use five different types of malted barley to give the beer its color and variety of malt flavors. Can go grain to glass or extract to glass in 10 days or so but will develop a deep, richer flavor if you age for several days or weeks before serving.
Extract version is made with DME and steeping grains. Steeping grains are packed in a muslin grain bag perfect for steeping. 5.5 gallon recipe.
All grain recipe is based on a 5.5 gallon recipe at 70% efficiency.
Both recipes come with detailed instructions which may or may not need adjusting to you own brewing style. Available with Safale 05 or Wyeast 1056. Both recipes end up right at 4.5 ABV.
